Expotrade — Five years of PPC campaigns and website redesigns for Argentina’s largest industry expos
Five years of Google Ads campaign management across four major Argentine expos with five website redesigns covering logistics, transport, cleaning, and graphics industries.
The Challenge
Expotrade organizes some of Argentina’s most important industry trade shows. ExpoTransporte and Logística-k serve the logistics and transport sector. ExpoClean covers the professional cleaning industry. ExpoSign anchors the graphics, signage, and visual communication space. Each expo operates on its own annual cycle with registration periods, exhibitor recruitment, and attendee marketing that need to be precisely timed.
The challenge was twofold. First, each expo needed its own PPC campaigns with industry-specific keywords, ad copy, and landing pages — and these campaigns needed to scale up and down with each event’s registration calendar. Second, Expotrade needed five distinct web properties: one institutional site for the company itself, plus four expo-specific websites that could showcase exhibitors, publish industry content, and drive registrations. Managing all of this simultaneously required both paid media expertise and web development capacity.
Our Approach
Google Ads Campaign Architecture. Starting in 2012 with ExpoTransporte and Logística-k, we built campaign structures tailored to each expo’s industry vertical. By 2013, we had added ExpoClean and ExpoSign to the portfolio. Each expo received its own campaign architecture with keyword strategies reflecting industry-specific B2B search behavior in Argentine Spanish. Campaigns were structured around registration phases: awareness, early-bird, and final push periods.
Multi-Channel Expansion. By 2014, we expanded beyond Google Ads to include social media marketing across Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn for event registrations. Proposals evolved to include SMM components alongside SEM, recognizing that trade show attendance decisions often involve social proof and industry peer influence.
Five Website Redesigns. We redesigned the institutional Expotrade website and all four expo-specific sites. Each site was built on Drupal with event management databases for exhibitor directories, schedule management, and registration tracking. The expo sites featured industry-specific blog content: ExpoSign accumulated over 600 articles on graphics and visual communication topics, while ExpoClean published nearly 400 articles on professional cleaning industry developments.
Ongoing Optimization and Reporting. Each campaign cycle generated performance data that informed the next year’s strategy. We delivered detailed SEM performance reports tracking impressions, clicks, CTR, and cost efficiency. The ExpoSign campaigns achieved a 1.49% CTR across over 6,200 clicks, while ExpoClean campaigns delivered nearly 2,000 clicks targeted specifically at cleaning industry professionals.
The Results
Over five years, we built and maintained the complete digital marketing infrastructure for Argentina’s leading industry expo organizer. The combination of precise PPC timing and comprehensive web properties gave each expo a professional digital presence that matched the scale of the events themselves. Key outcomes:
- Five consecutive years of Google Ads campaign management across four major expos
- Campaign structures tailored to each industry vertical with registration-phase timing
- Five websites redesigned and built: institutional site plus ExpoTransporte, Logística-k, ExpoClean, and ExpoSign
- Over 1,000 industry articles published across the expo websites
- Multi-channel expansion to include social media marketing alongside search advertising
- Exhibitor directories and event management databases for each expo site
- Detailed SEM performance reporting for each campaign cycle
What We Learned
Event marketing has a rhythm that’s fundamentally different from always-on campaigns. PPC for trade shows requires campaign structures that mirror the event calendar — awareness phases, early-bird registration pushes, and final countdown campaigns each need different messaging, different bid strategies, and different landing pages. Getting this timing wrong means spending budget when intent is low and missing the windows when it’s highest.
Managing four expos simultaneously also taught us the value of having a systematic approach to campaign architecture. The template we developed for one expo could be adapted to the others, but each industry vertical brought its own keyword landscape and audience behavior. The discipline of running four parallel campaign cycles for five years became foundational to how we manage multi-brand, multi-campaign portfolios today.
